Fred Meyer Social Media Promotion

Objective: Use participant’s Instagram selfies to propel Fred Meyer’s College Night program into new territory and directly address one of their key customer demographics.

Concept and Construction: Even though Fred Meyer’s College Night was an exisiting and successful sales event, it lacked any form of social media engagement or promotion. Beyond the event itself it failed to connect to the college demographic. Looking for a way to create organic social engagement, I lead a team which ultimately created the Instagram component and subsequent Art Direction for the entire 2014 program. Encouraging students to post a selfie of themselves in front of the Fredbot 5000 Instagram backdrop, they were eneterd to win a gift card.

Outcome: Almost 300 selfies—the event was well recieved by both customers and upper management.
